Easter Weekend

This weekend was really busy. Friday, Michael and I picked up our marriage license from the courthouse.....and we also opened up a joint bank account. Then Friday night I stayed up late working on the seating chart for the wedding.

Saturday I went down to kenosha and took my mom to the korean mega store, H mart in Niles, IL. She ordered traditional Deok, korean rice cakes, for my wedding. Then we grabbed lunch and did some grocery shopping there as well. Then we went back to my parent's house and I quickly make Pistachio torte and a lemon Tart for Easter Dinner the next day. Then Minhee picked me up and we drove down to Shaumburg, IL to spend the night with out friend Mijin. We all went out to eat at a super yummy Korean Kalbi restaurant and then stopped at Very Berry (a place that is just like Pinkberry) for dessert. I had Froyo with granola, chocolate chips, and bananas....it was great!

Then sunday we woke up and went to church, and had a yummy korean lunch that was catered in after the service. Then minhee and I headed back to kenosha for Easter dinner at my parents house. Michael drove down from milwaukee to join us and it was a great time. My mom made a fabulous turkey dinner, and the desserts were a hit. I hid Mia's Easter Basket and she found it with my help.

Then I stopped at minhee's house on my way back up to Milwaukee to help her with the favors that she is making for the wedding. Didnt get back to Milwaukee till 11:30pm.....so it was a very eventful weekend!

Spa Fun

Last night I had a facial appointment with my friend Karyn down at her spa in Kenosha. It was the most wondeful spa experience that I have ever had.....I am so lucky to have Karyn in my life. I ended up staying there for 2 and a half hours getting all kinds of additional pampering treatments.

She gave me my wonderful relaxing facial, along with a foot massage. She also gave me a paraffin wax hand treatment and hand massage. Next was my first microdemabrasion treatment which was very awesome......I can't not believe how SOFT my skin is....it's truely amazing! I then got the most awesome upper back and neck massage EVER.

I also got my legs and eyebrows waxed, as well as a lip renewal treatment.

I never knew I could feel soooooo relaxed and sooooo pampered.

Thanks Karyn!

Another great weekend 3/8/08

Friday Lesley came over to help me finish the scrapbook I was making for Mia's Birthday...I called it: My first 2 years. It turned out super cute. Then Lesley and I went to JoAnn Fabrics for like 3 hours.....we both got a lot of great stuff. Saturday I went dress shopping with my mom for my wedding, so that she could find a dress for her. Then Saturday night I worked on Mia's Birthday Cake for her party yesterday. The cake turned out pretty cute. I made it Dora themed since Dora is one of her favorite characters right now. The party was a lot of fun, Michael and I spent the whole day down in Kenosha yesterday. I can't believe my niece is 2 already!! The time has sure flown by!

My Weekend 3/3/08

We ordered our wedding cake on Friday.......from Mila's European Bakery. We decided to go with half cheesecake, half white cake, with raspberry filling in between. DELISH! Michael and I saw: Definately, Maybe later on that evening and we both liked it a lot. At first i thought it was going to be a super cheesey movie, but it turned out to be very good! You should see if if you get a chance. Saturday morning I went with Lesley to try on her wedding gown one last time before she ordered it....she looked amazing. Afterwards I headed to kenosha to spend the night with my family. I took Mia to target which was interesting.....everything she saw she pointed out and said: I want the pink one! So that was quite amusing. Then yesterday evening I headed back up to Milwaukee in time to meet Casey for the Billy Joel Concert! It was AMAZING! We had the BEST seats!!! IT was a wonderful experience and Billy put on a great show! :-)

Avenue Q and Elsa's 2/28/08

Had an amazing time with Jane and Theresa last night! We had dinner at Elsa's, which was fabulous....I can't believe that was my first time there! Jane treated us which was super awesome (Thank you Thank you!), and then we walked over to the Marcus Center for the suprise of getting Orchestra level seats....all for the student price of $20. I loved the show.....my favorite was the Bad News Bears, and also the song: The internet is for Porn......it was hilarious! The show runs through Sunday so you should check it out if you get a chance!

Cross Country Skiing 2/24/08

Minhee, Michael, and I went cross country skiing at Hawthorne Glen park! All of us hadn't done this since middle school, so it was quite the experience! It was the perfect day, upper 30's and Sunny! Cross Country skiing is an awesome workout in case you've never tried it....and you can't beat $5 for the price. Afterwards we had brunch at the Wicked Hop.....I had the black bean burger and it was sooooo delish! We will definately go back there soon! We also stopped in at Anthropology where I found the cutest shirt ever, and it was on the clearance rack which was a bonus! Another great weekend!

Bachelorette Party/Shower weekend 2/16/08

I had the most amazing weekend. All of my best friends flew in from all over the US: My sister from Seattle, Christina from New York, Patty from Philly, and Julia from Florida! It couldn't have been more perfect. For my Bachelorette party we started out at my place for a private wine tasting and then we went to Trocadero for dinner. Afterwards we headed over to my favorite new Spot: Cuvee, this amazing champagne bar! We had champagne and dessert! Then to top off the night we went to Centanni, and since Christina is good friends with one of the bartenders there, we got the VIP Champagne room all to ourselves! It was an amazing night.....thanks to all my wonderful friends :-)

Sunday, we woke up and made Yogurt Parfaits which were a hit! Then we all got ready for my shower which was just perfect. Despite the crappy weather, everyone who planned on coming made it up here, except for the Green Bay people cause their conditions were way worse than ours. My mom made all the yummy food, and a few korean dishes as well which were a hit! Then everyone worked on a scrapbook page for me which was the best idea ever! I will always treasure this scrapbook, and everytime I look at it I am amazed and proud to have so many people who love me :-

you were right and I was wrong

wow...I NEVER here those words from Michael, but when I got home from work yesterday, there was a huge box on the floor with a blanket covering it up with a note that said: You were right and I was wrong

I had no idea what that could be referring to, and when I lifted up the blanket, there was ROCK BAND....for PS2. Weeks, earlier I inisted to michael that i saw somewhere online that rock band was available for ps2 and he INSISTED that I was wrong.....and that I was crazy.

Hm.....so I guess him buying this game was his way of saying sorry.

So Michael and I tried it out and I had vocals the whole time, while he did the drums. And then Grypp stopped down and joined our band playing the guitar......it was a lot of fun. We'll have to have a rock band party before we move!

A whole lot going On

It's been quite a while since I have last posted. I've had a lot of wedding plans to worry about, but things are falling in to place. The wedding is 71 days away!

Let's see.....recently I played SingStar for PS2 at a friends house, and immediately purchased the game on my way back up to Milwaukee. I LOVE this game so much....I bought the AMPED version, and I ordered the ROCKS version which should be arriving tomorrow actually. I LOVE singing, and this game is so much fun.

This weekend

Tomorrow is our first Cake Tasting at Simma's for the wedding, so we are both looking forward to that. Then we are going to the Admiral's game and Goo Goo Dolls concert, so that should be fun. We also are going to order our wedding bands, so we can cross that off our list of things to do. I am hoping to get more organized this weekend and create a timelime of stuff we have left to do.... can't believe it's only 3 months and 1 week away!

Christmas Cards

This is probably my favorite time of year, because I actually get mail that is not JUNK or bills.
Last night I hit the jackpot.....6 Christmas Cards on one day! I was like a kid in a candy store when we checked the mail last night......oh the Excitement!! And all my beautiful cards are hanging on display in our dining room....to enjoy every time i walk past them! I LOVE getting christmas cards probably even more than I enjoy getting gifts!!! There's just something about them :-)

It's that time of year

Christmas Cookies!!

This year I am not getting as carried away as I did last year ( I think i did about 8 different kinds)....I just dont' have the time for it. So I am sticking to 3 different kinds of cookies: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodles, and Gingerbread
I'll begin my baking tomorrow!

The Nutcracker Ballet

Last year Michael and I took my Grandma to see The Nutcracker, and it was my first time seeing it. We decided to make it into a tradition and see it every year so this past Sunday we went again with some friends. I truely LOVE this performance and I can't wait until my niece is old enough so we can take her to the show. IF you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. The music and the performers are amazing. What a wonderful way to start of the holiday season!!
:-)

New York

What can I say? New York was exactly what I pictured it would be.....LOTS and LOTS of walking, which reminds me how LAZY everyone here in Milwaukee is....I mean how often do you get upset when you can't find a close parking spot? In New York, you walk everywhere! So I definately got some great excercise while i was there. I got to see all the touristy spots: Rockefeller Center, Times Square (which was nuts), China Town, The Met, SoHo, Central Park, and many more! Here's a few pics.

Here I am

Sorry, it's been a crazy past few weeks.....Iowas turned out to not be as bad as I thought it would be. The campus is truely amazing and very huge, probably the largest I have ever been on.

This picture was my favorite part, the Clock Tower which stands in the center of campus.
Our trip was cut short due to the Blizzard/Ice Storm that was headed our way, so we'll have to plan another trip this Spring to plan out where we will want to live.

Iowa

Well tomorrow night Michael and I are off to Ames, Iowa to check out our future home. It'll be my first time there, and I am actually looking forward to it. Our expenses are going to be paid for, so that really helps. We'll be meeting with some people at the University, and talking to some of the Graduate students there. I am also looking forward to checking out the Festival of Blossoms on Friday night as well as the Iowa State Wind Ensemble Winter Concert....ahhhh it will bring back fond memories of high school :-)

Oh and on our way back we may hit up one of the local vineyards as well.....hope they have some decent wine!

Update in My Life

Well I haven't posted in quite a while, but a lot has been going on. Most importantly, Michael and I have picked a WEDDING DATE: April 11th, 2008. We chose this date as it will mark our 5 year anniversary together. The timing just seems right so next year is really going to come quickly for us.

This weekend we went and picked out wedding bands. Michael of course found his in 5 minutes, while I didn't find exactly what I was looking for at all. We're supposed to hear back from the Jeweler this week on different options for me.

Yesterday I did the 5k Panther Prowl walk for the UWM Alumni association. All money was given towards scholarships for new students to the school, so I figured it was a good cause.
It was a LOT OF FUN, even despite the rain that we had, but I will definately try and do more stuff like this as I really enjoyed it. We also had a little post walk celebration at LIVE so we had some drinks, food, and watched the Packer Game!

Weekend of Fall Fun

Friday my friend Karyn came up to Milwaukee to spend the day with me. We went shopping at Bayshore, then headed to Costco. We both got some awesome deals and a lot of stuff.
After she left, Michael and I watched Zodiac......which turned out to be the scariest movie that I have seen in quite a wall. I really recommend this movie for everyone to see......it's SOOOO SCARY....and really well put together.

Saturday I went golfing at Pet's in Kenosha....it was the perfect day to golf! We didn't do too well, but it was still so much fun. We walked the 9 holes, and decided to carry my clubs since I had my new golf bag that has 2 straps and a stand......it was quite the workout. Not sure if I'll try that again....it was pretty harsh on my back seeing the issues that I already have, but figured it would be good excercise.

Sunday Michael and I decided on a whim to drive up to Cedarburg to the Wine and Harvest Festival. We have been wanting to check it out for years now, and we finally got a chance and I can't believe we've been missing out all these years. It was so much fun....and there was so much to see. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I decided my one treat would be a caramel apple from Amy's kitchen which was featured on the Food Network. It was DELICIOUS and worth the 7 dollars that I paid for it! Here's a link to the store:

Can't wait to check it out again next year!

I am also heading up to Cedarburg in a few weeks on the first weekend of October with my friend Tarrah....we are going to check out the shops and the Winery.

I LOVE this time of year!!! :-)

You've got to try this

Calling all Oatmeal fans.....I tried this today and it is now one of my favorites. It's not too sweet and it's just a great snack or breakfast item.

I tried the Vanilla, Almond and Honey but the others sound pretty good as well.
